A LIFE IN SPORT
Sport and fitness has been my life since I was a young lad, growing up enjoying all physical activity and loving the outdoors. I climbed the highest peak in England before I was 10 years old, and competed regionally and nationally in decathlon as a teenager. I won the Decathlon at the Under 20s Yorkshire Championships, anchored the Yorkshire 4 x 100m Relay Team to gold in the 1994 Regional Athletics Championships, and in 1995 and medalled at the Senior English Decathlon Championships the following year.
As an adult I played competitive rugby union whilst studying Sports Science in Lincoln with Sandal and Lincoln. Following a series of injuries which curtailed my competitive days I developed a love of more recreational aspects of sport including, walking, cycling, swimming and rowing.
